Ganderbal, Jun 21 (KNO): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said all the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from National Conference (NC) are competent, calling upon those raising fingers at party legislators to show their report card first. He was reacting to a query on the party's Member of Parliament (MP) from Srinagar Lok Sabha, Aga Ruhullah Mehdi. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Chief Minister said all NC MLAs are competent and are working for the people. “Where can you bring the new faces? The people have chosen them for five years. Why are you wasting your time? You should look into the work. NC MLAs are competent and have been doing their job. They are being unnecessarily disrespected,” Omar said. He said those raising their voices should show their report card. "The NC MLAs will show theirs when the time comes," he said. About Amarnath Yatra, the CM said the security and safety of yatris lies with the Lieutenant Governor and Raj Bhawan. “We hope that the pilgrims in large numbers will come this year and they will return home safely. Their safety has to be ensured by the LG. We hope adequate measures are taken for their safety. Our government has fulfilled the rest of the responsibilities, like medical and infrastructure," he added. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said the war between Iran and Israel must stop. "Indeed, some politics is behind it, but we hope this stops and the issues are resolved through talks," he said—(KNO)
